Greetings NERFerS. Well it's 2021 already . To start off the new year let's take a look at NERF's new line of dinosaur themed blasters...
So it looks like in a couple of weeks we will be getting a new line of blasters. That's right, the DINOSQUAD series will be released with 3 dart blasters and a Super Soaker, all of which are based on dinosaurs. The series DINOSQUAD series was officially announced on January 5, 2021. It should be noted that these blasters have been released earlier than their official launch date,
and they are available in retail stores despite being given an official launch date by Nerf.
Although I think this series really gets back to basic, goofy, fun, that has made NERF famous, I probably won't be collecting any of these blasters. So here is a brief description of them, and some pictures too.
Leading the pack (pun intended) is the REX-RAMPAGE. The REX-RAMPAGE is a clip system flywheel blaster, similar to the N-Strike Elite STRYFE. As the name suggest, it is based on the Tyrannosaurus Rex. It features a short, built-in stock with dart storage and an integrated scope. The REX-RAMPAGE comes packaged with the blaster, a ten dart clip, twenty Elite darts and instructions. It sells for about 40bucks and it requires four "AA" batteries to operate.
Next up is the TRICERA-BLAST, based on the Triceratops. The TRICERA-BLAST is a hammer-action blaster that features a break-action type of barrel similar to that of the SLEDGEFIRE (although it is not needed for operation). The blaster uses an intelligent AR system, that allows the blaster to fire from any of its three chambers if the blaster is not fully loaded. There is also storage space for 12 additional darts in the stock. It comes packaged with the blaster, twelve Elite darts and instructions. The TRICERA-BLAST retails for about 20 bucks.
The final blaster is a single-fire pistol blaster, called the STEGO-SMASH. As its name suggest, it is based on the Stegosaurus and it is similar to the N-Strike Elite FIRESTRIKE. It features storage for 4 extra darts under the barrel, The STEGO-SMASH comes packaged with the blaster and five Elite darts, and sells for about 10 bucks.
There is also a Super Soaker called the DINO-SOAK... I don't really do Super Soakers so I can;t tell tou much about it, other than it's looks a little like a dinosaur and it shoots water out of it's mouth.
All of these new blasters come with appropriately colored NERF Elite darts. Other than the color there is nothing new or special about theses darts.
It should also be noted that these blasters are constructed similar to other new series blasters like the Alpha Strike and Elite 2.0 series The blasters held together by clips, few screws, and solvent welds. This of coarse makes getting the blaster apart for modding, very difficult.
As I said, I don't think I'll be collecting this series... but for someone who has a thing for dinosaurs or an avid NERF collector, the DINOSQUAD series might be for you.
NERF on NERFerS!!!
