Clear series N-Strike MAVERICK REV-6
I picked one of these up years ago in the clearance isle at Wallly-Mart. It got put away and has been sitting in a box every since...
The MAVERICK REV-6 first hit stores back in 2005. This 6 shot revolver was an instant favorite of NERFERS and became one of the most iconic NERF blaster of all time. The MAVERICK was a popular candidate for modification due to its simplicity and low price. There are many modification possibilities, and NERF has even released stock blasters such as the FLIPFURY, that are based on MAVERICK mods. There is also the STRONGARM, which is basically a more powerful version of the MAVERICK with Slam-fire.
The NERF FLIPFURY was based on a popular MAVERICK mod. |
The Clear variant of the MAVERICK was first released in 2008,as a Gamestop exclusive, to promote the NERF N-Strike video game. The name "Crystal Pistol" comes from the game. About a year later, this version was re-released as a Wallly-Mart exclusive (this is the one I have). Then in 2010, it was re-released again, under the Clear Series as a Target exclusive.

The MAVERICK REV-6 was my first blaster and introduction to NERF. I have a few in my collection and it will always be one of my all-time favorite blasters. Interestingly the clear versions of the MAVERICK reportedly shoot with less power than the original version.
As I mentioned mine came from Walmart. It is in mint condition, in it's original packaging. The box is attractive, being primarily black with silver and white printing. The box has cut-outs on both sides to show off the blaster inside.
There is also a small cut out in the muzzle end of the box to expose the muzzle of the blaster.
The bottom of the box features illustrated instructions, while the top and ends feature graphics of the blaster. There are also 6 Sonic Micro darts included inside the box.
As for my Crystal Pistol, I'm going to leave it in it's box. It looks cool, and it can just be a display piece and collector's item.
Until next time, keep it foamy and...
NERF on NERFerS !!!
