HERE'S THE HYPERFIRE

N-STRIKE  ELITE HYPERFIRE OVERVIEW

One of my most read posts is the HYPERFIRE  preview  that I posted over 4 years ago Nerf Elite HYPERFIRE- PREVIEW.  Well it's occurred to me that I never followed up  with a review.  So here at last, is my past due look at the HYPERFIRE .

The N-STRIKE ELITE HYPERFIRE hit store shelves back in late summer 2016. The average retail price was $49.99 . The HYPERFIRE comes with a 25 dart drum magazine, 25 Elite darts, and instructions. The HYPERFIRE was also released in a Costco exclusive value pack that included the blaster, two 25 dart drums, 50 Elite Darts, and instructions.
These days the HYPERFIRE's official status is discontinued, although you can still find them for sale, both new and used.

Design features of the HYPERFIRE include an integrated shoulder stock, a grip located in front of the magazine well, four strap attachment points,   and a single tactical rail located above the front end of the blaster, in front of the jam door.

The HYPERFIRE  is a fully automatic, flywheel powered, clip system blaster. Unlike most flywheel blasters, it uses a conveyor system to feed darts into the flywheels, rather than a pusher mechanism. The conveyor system uses a belt to move darts to the flywheels. The advantage a conveyor system has over a pusher mechanism is that it allows for a faster rate of fire.

The whole dart conveyor assembly doubles as the  jam door.

The HYPERFIRE has the highest advertised rate of fire of any current N-Strike Elite blaster, at five darts per second. The HYPERFIRE can be modified to shoot darts at an amazing rate of 10+ darts per second... that's 600 rounds a minute! There are lots of aftermarket mod kits available on the interweb, like the Worker Super-E Parts Set, which includes an aluminum alloy flywheel cage, Worker diamond pattern flywheels, which makes the bullet spin when shot to improve the range and accuracy, 40,000 RPM high power motors, and more...

Of coarse high capacity magazines are a must for a blaster like this. The HYPERFIRE comes standard with a 25 dart drum mag, and its nice to have a couple of extras to shoot massive amounts of darts at lightning-fast speed.

In my original preview post I mentioned how nice it would be to have that 50 dart drum mag to go along with the HYPERFIRE... well  ever since the release of the TITAN, we do.

It should be noted that a modified HYPERFIRE may have trouble with drum magazines due to the weak spring tension. The magazine simply can't feed darts to the conveyor fast enough,  causing "skipped " shots. These modified high performance blasters do better with 18 or 22 dart stick mags, which push the darts into the blaster better.

Straight out of the box the HYPERFIRE is absolutely one of my favorite blasters.  There is no stock dart blaster that shoots faster. The HYPERFIRE is devastating in a crowd and an deal with an entire hoard of zombies in a matter of seconds.
Sure, the HYPERFIRE has it's shortcomings such as requiring 7 or 8 dollars worth of D batteries... but all in all it's absolutely worth having in your NERF arsenal.
Well, there you have it, my  last post of the year. I'll see you in 2021. Happy New Year,  and...
