My Review and Opinion of the NERF MEGA MOTOSTRYKE

Of all the 2020 NERF blasters that have been released or announced, not many have excited me more than the MOTOSTRYKE.

After a slight delay in shipping,  I finally got my hands on one... and here's what I think

It looks like Hasbro has decided to re-skin some old ideas for the third time, but the name only suggests a second time... well I guess it's only the second time... I'm sure I have previous versions of all these blasters already so I'm not real sure about these, but let's take a look at the NERF ELITE 2.0 series anyway.

NERF ULTRA

A look at the ULTRA series 

The NERF  community first got wind of the ULTRA series when a listing of the ULTRA ONE and dart refill pack was leaked in early 2019. Later, in September 2019, an image of the ULTRA ONE blaster was leaked, and on the 1st of October, NERF officially launched the ULTRA series.

The ULTRA series is based around it's new proprietary ammunition. The ULTRA DART is a  aerodynamic dart made of a kind of Styrofoam-like substance. It is brittle and not as flexible as most foam darts, and is damaged much easier. The ULTRA DART features built-in fins, a streamlined head, similar to that of the Mega Dart, and a "nub" on the back end that is necessary to make the dart work in the blaster... So the bottom line is that the ULTRA series is NOT compatible with any other blaster series.

SLIM PICK'NS

Greetings NERFerS. Like the rest of the world, I haven't been getting out much lately. Today I decided I needed to pick up some basic necessities, so I geared up with my mask and some hand sanitizer and took a trip to Wallymart.
Needless to say, I was excited to check out the NERF section... well imagine my surprise/shock to find  the shelfs almost totally bare. I think it's interesting to note the only thing they did have was some ULTRA stuff... no thanks.

Hopefully this shortage of blasters will be over soon, like this damned virus. So be sure to wear a mask, avoid crowds, wash your hands, and...

HIATUS

Greetings NERFerS, how have you been? I hope you have been well and safe. I realize it's been over a month since my last post, but I didn't want you to think that I had given up on NERFARIUM. I just needed to take a little break. Like everybody else, I had to focus my attention on other matters.To be perfectly honest, I just haven't been feeling 100% NERFY lately either.

Well last night, while watching some videos and reading some articles,and trying to get back in to the  swing of things and catch up on the latest in all things Nerf, I thought I should let you know I was still around and that I have couple of new blasters and projects in the pipeline...

I'm doing something with Rhinos...

A Year Ago

Remembering NERF or NOTHING 

It's hard to believe that it has been a year since Google+ closed down, taking the NERF or NOTHING community down as well.

NERF or NOTHING was the second largest NERF community on Google+ and absolutely the most active. We had just about 600 members,  with more joining daily when Google shut down its social network platform. Given a little more time, I'm sure we would have become the number 1 NERF community on Google+
Since that time I have heard from a couple of N or N members, but not many. I would love to hear from some of you, and hear about what you've been up to... especially your NERF projects!
I hope whatever it is you are all doing these days, you are all well, and I hope you remember to...

Just wanted to let everyone know that I reinstalled the software for the chatroom. So we're back open for business! Feel free to use it, although no one really did before... Here's another blaster that was debuted at this year's New  York Toy Fair. This time it's from the video game franchise Fortnite, and this time it's a  6 shot grenade launcher.

NERF HALO MA40

NERF HALO MA40 blaster.

HALO fans and UNSC soldiers everywhere are going to love this one... Another tacti-cool blaster that was premiered at the 2020 New York toy fair is the NERF HALO MA40. A flywheel powered, assault rifle style blaster inspired by the upcoming new Halo Infinite video game by Microsoft Studios.
This is a great looking bullpup style blaster, meaning the magazine well is behind the trigger. It runs on four C batteries, comes with a 10 dart clip, 10 darts, and a code to unlock the MA40's color scheme in the Halo Infinite game.
Although the clip is cosmetically different from other NERF clips, it appears that they will still work with this blaster. Since there was no working model at Toy Fair, it's not known if this blaster is fully or semi-automatic... my guess is that it is semi-automatic and basically a reshell of the RAYVEN?

It will be available October 1st 2020 for 50 bucks,  so I guess we'll find out then. More news on this one as it becomes available...

I just heard about this one earlier today.  The information is available from the Hasbro Newsroom, but I'm sure as the next few days go by you'll be hearing about it from every NERF blogger and YouTuber on the planet. Finally NERF has made a clip fed, flywheel powered, MEGA blaster.

I picked this one up at Kohl's on super-sale for a mere  15 bucks! Regular price for this exclusive blaster is an outrageous 40 dollars.

This re- released, retooled, repaint, of the NERF MODULUS RECON MK II is a decent blaster... but highly  over priced. Also compared to what you get with other blasters like the RETALIATOR or original RECON CS-6, it is a little underwhelming.
