The Xeno Cannon MK-2 Nerfarium Exclusive |
And How Xeno Slugs are made
"After the success of the original Xeno Cannon I decided that it could be improved." -Xenomorph1320-D
The Xeno Cannon holds the distinction of being the most read/ popular Nerfarium post to date. Now we proudly present the new and improved Xeno Cannon MK-2. In this Nerfarium exclusive the vent crawling alien Nerfer tells his own story.
After the success of the original Xeno Cannon I decided that it could be improved. For example, it was just too long and bulky and it had a weak point in the pressure section shown here:

As you can see, the Xeno Cannon MK-2 is just a little longer than this Stampede making it easier to sling over your shoulder and less awkward to use.

How Xeno Slugs are made
The Xeno Slug: The largest nerf dart ever created. with a diameter of 50.8mm and length of 9 inches, it dwarfs Megas, hand cannon slugs and even mongo stefans. (Titan missiles don’t count because they are not classified as darts)
Ever wonder just how much work goes into making such ammunition? Well why don’t I show you.
Step 1: Cutting and Shaping a Blank.
Each slug is made from a 9 inch section of pool noodle. which then has one end wrapped tightly with duct tape like this:
This makes the slug a little more aerodynamic
Step 2: Weighting the Slug.
Next a 1 1/2 inch section of 1/2 inch PVC is filled with steel BBs and capped on both ends with duct tape and shoved into the front of the slug:
Step 3:
To prevent the weight from shifting back due to the high G forces during firing a plastic bag is crammed into the other end of the slug and hot glue is pumped into the front of the slug to prevent the slug from exiting the front of the slug during the sudden deceleration on impact.Step 4: Adhere Foam Padding.
To prevent large bruises on Humans' legs, face, arms and other the slug’s tip is padded with 1 inch thick foam shown here:
Step 5: Forming the slug.
as you can see, this slug is larger than the barrel material which is 2” PVC which increases loading time by a lot:

And thus a Xeno Slug is born, ready for battle!
