Raider Rampage

On September 9th, 2009  "the Nerf raid begins" and Hasbro officially introduces us to the Raider CS-35. In the summer of 2012 we were re-introduced (with not so much fanfare) to this blaster as the Rampage. The Raider gave us a sturdy side clip fed, front vertical grip, pump action design with slamfire function. It also came with a pretty cool extendable stock and a massive 35 round drum magazine that was compatible with all the other nerf clip system blasters. The Rampage is blue and looks just like the Raider. It comes with a 25 dart drum mag. But it does have a direct plunger system and that makes all the difference in performance.

There are a few things I would have done different with the development of these blasters. First the Raider should have been yellow so that it would match other N-strike blasters and accessories. Next the other clip feds at this time (Longshot, Recon) as well as up coming blasters were cs-6 and came stock with a 6 dart clip, 18 dart clips would be out the next year too. Maybe the 35 was too much too soon. A direct plunger system gives the Rampage elite performance  worthy of a successor, but with a 25 dart drum mag and no stock the Rampage isn't as impressive out of the box as it could have been and the Raider was. Just my opinion or bad marketing decisions?
RAMPAGE out of the box.

The Raider and Rampage in my armory reflect a few changes and modifications I would have liked to have seen stock. My Raider has  N-strike yellow paint job and a 6 dart clip(any size clip still works). Internal mods were made as well. My Rampage sports the bigger 35 rd. drum and a Stockade stock with 10 extra darts giving it  I think  a   bigger, bad'R, heavier duty look and feel.

My RAMPAGE and RAIDER side by side.

Remember to always enjoy yourself while raiding and/or rampaging!
