NERF ULTRA ONE Tops Dangerous Toy List

NERF ULTRA ONE blaster.

Today World Against Toys Causing Harm, Inc released its 47th Annual "10 worst toys for the holiday season" list. Topping the list is the NERF ULTRA ONE blaster.
W.A.T.C.H. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about dangerous children's products and protecting children from harm. nu
The list was released earlier today at a press conference held at Franciscan Children's Hospital in Boston. The Ultra One was demonstrated and cited as a potential for eye injury. The press release  also states- W.A.T.C.H. OUT! The manufacturer of this dart “blaster” boasts that the ammunition
“FIRES UP TO 120 FT” with “POWERFUL SPEED” making this the “FARTHEST
FLYING NERF DART. EVER.” The darts provided can shoot with enough force to
potentially cause eye injuries. Of note at least one retailer sells this “motorized” toy weapon
alongside “Nerf Battle Goggles, a “toy” which “…does not provide protection.”
The Toy Association, which is a group that represents toy makers, say the list is misleading. The Toy Association says "all toys sold in the U.S. must meet more than 100 'rigorous safety tests and standards' by law." We all already know that is says "CAUTION: Do not aim at eyes or face" on every NERF blaster... many of us sand that off when we're modding, which it also clearly says not to do right on the blaster.
The Ultra One is the flagship blaster of the new NERF ULTRA  series which makes claims of pinpoint accuracy, extreme distance, and powerful speed, using a new Aerofin technology dart.

The blaster and the ULTRA series in general has not received good reviews from the vast majority of the NIC. Lackluster performance and expensive, new incompatible ammunition being the main complaints.
Making the top of a dangerous toys list at the beginning the holiday shopping season isn't going to help matters for the already questionable new blaster and series.
